If you are in search of great fishing in Florida, you can look into the Lower Florida Keys. You can also go to Islamorada for some great night fishing and permit fishing. And if you want some more exotic options, you can try your luck with tarpon and mahi mahi.

Islamorada

Islamorada is home to many world class fishing spots. One of the most impressive is the Hump. This is a reef that produces some of the best tuna catches in the state.

The Islamorada Hump has also been the source of a few wahoo. You might want to try trolling a small plastic lure in the area for some of the big ones.

There are many more types of game fish in the Florida Keys. Some of them include Snook, Sea Trout, Tarpon, and Bonefish. They all can be caught in and around Islamorada.

For those of you who enjoy fishing in colder waters, the winter months can be a time to appreciate. A few cold fronts are hitting the region, and the result has been improved fishing in the surrounding waters.

Lower Florida Keys

The Lower Florida Keys is a great destination for fishing enthusiasts. Not only are the islands beautiful, they are also home to many species of fish. In addition to the usual varieties of inshore and offshore fish, there are plenty of species in the deep sea.

Big Pine Key, Cudjoe Key and Marathon Hump are great destinations for fishing. Each of these islands offers a different kind of fishing experience.

Snook, Redfish, Permit and Tarpon are just a few of the inshore fish that can be found in the waters of the lower Florida Keys. Mahi-mahi, sailfish and tuna can be caught in the deeper waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Permit fishing

If you’re looking for a great fishing adventure, then a Florida Keys permit fishing charter should be high on your list. Permit are a large and robust species that are a great game fish. They are a tough fighter and can survive a wide range of temperatures. Their life spans are long.

They can be caught on a fly, live bait, or with a crab. However, the best way to hook a permit is with a fly.

There are many different species of permit, but they all share a certain quality. They have a fork tail that has a spiked black tip. It is also common to see a sharp sickle dorsal fin.

Night reef fishing

If you’re looking to go fishing in Florida, consider a night reef fishing trip. These trips will give you the opportunity to see what fish are swimming in the dark. This is one of the best ways to catch a big fish.

The Florida Keys have a lot of variety when it comes to fishing. You can catch everything from tarpon to amberjack. There are even billfish that inhabit the waters.

Night fishing is a great way to hook big fish. This is especially true if you’re looking to catch one of the big billfish.

Some of the biggest billfish in the Keys are blue marlin, white marlin, swordfish, and sailfish. They are some of the most thrilling fish to catch.

Mahi mahi

Located on the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, the Florida Keys are an excellent place to fish for Mahi mahi. The fish, also known as dolphinfish, are extremely popular for eating. They are fast, hard-fighting, and easy to catch.

Fishing for mahi mahi in the Florida Keys is best during mid-spring to early autumn. These are the months when the water is warm and the sun is overhead. However, this is not a sure thing. In fact, some places may be more productive than others. This is why it’s important to check out the various fishing destinations before you set out on your quest.

Tarpon

The Florida Keys are a popular destination for tarpon fishing. With the warm water and subtropical climate, the Florida Keys offer a unique tarpon fishing experience.

There are many ways to catch tarpon in the Florida Keys, including live bait, artificial lures, soft plastics, and topwater plugs. If you are new to tarpon fishing, a good charter captain can guide you through the process.

The best tarpon fishing spots are in areas with currents. Some of the best places to fish are Passier Pass, the Bahia Honda Bridge, the Seven-Mile Bridge, and the edges of flats around Marathon, Islamorada, and Key West.

You can find tarpon in many channels from Big Pine Key to Key West Harbor. However, if you’re looking for a big catch, the Egmont Channel is your best bet. This ultra-deep channel can reach depths of 80 feet.
